    Hi Tim,

Can you please let me how much is the fees for Advanced MDX – Performance, Optimization, and the MDX Script Course? Also, is there an online batch for the same course ?

      Hi Hemant –

Thank you for your interest in the courses. Here is the answer to your questions:

There is no online version of the course.

The cost for the course varies. I wrote the two MDX courses for SolidQ. The SolidQ corporation owns the courses and they have full rights to present them. I often teach them, but other SolidQ mentors teach them also. Sometimes the SolidQ company negotiates with a Microsoft Training Partner to offer the course. In those cases, someone from SolidQ teaches the course and the SolidQ material is used, but the course enrollment and the course facilities are provided by the Training Partner. The next time I will be teaching a public course is at Benchmark Learning in Minneapolis 16-19 June 2014. Students can come to Minneapolis or take the course remotely.

I actually teach the course more often on a private basis. Often a company has several people that need to learn MDX, so the company will contract with SolidQ for me to come and teach the course at their location. This also works well because the course can be aimed specifically at what that company needs to learn.

Though the price varies, the courses are always quite expensive. SolidQ invested a lot of time in getting them ready and they are very specialized. I think it is worth spending some money to learn MDX. I think that developers can accomplish a lot more if they understand the power of what MDX can accomplish. MDX isn’t really hard – but it is somewhat difficult. I think the course is a good investment because it allows developers to be more productive much more quickly.

One more note – when a company has me teach the course on a private basis, they often also bring me in for 1-2 days consulting. I look at the specific MDX they have so far and I make recommendations. I think that it can be very helpful to suggest ways to make an organization’s cubes better – better performing and having more capabilities.

Thanks again – and good luck with your MDX work!
